We recommend booking 2–4 weeks ahead. For peak seasons (summer, end of the month, holidays), scheduling earlier ensures you get your preferred date with Manly Moving. With experience with moving customers we know that moving timelines can be crazy and we will work with you as best we can to get you moved in time.

3. Do I need to be present during the entire moving process?

You don’t need to stay the whole time, but being around at the start and finish helps us guarantee everything is loaded and placed exactly where you want it.

4. How long does a typical local move take?

Most local moves take 3–6 hours, depending on the size of your home, how prepared things are, and the distance between locations.

5. What is the difference between local and long-distance moves?

Local moves are billed hourly and stay within the region. Long-distance moves involve further travel, require more planning, and are based on distance, time, and shipment size. Manly Moving handles both with ease.


Pricing & Quotes

6. How does Manly Moving determine the cost of a move?

Pricing is based on the size of your home, amount of belongings, access (stairs, long walkways), distance, and any add-on services such as packing or specialty item moving. For Local moves we charge an hourly rate and supply our customers with the most accurate estimate we can based on the information given. Long-Distance moving costs are based on CuFt or weight of the shipment and so fees are added for add-on services.

7. Are your moving quotes free?

Absolutely! Manly Moving offers 100% free, no-obligation quotes for all customers. For local estimates we will do a free in-person estimate and we can do virtual estimates if you live further away.

8. Do you offer hourly or flat-rate pricing?

Yes. We offer hourly rates for most local moves and flat-rate pricing for long-distance moves or larger jobs.

9. Are there any hidden or unexpected fees?

Never. We pride ourselves on honest, upfront pricing. Any additional services—such as heavy-item handling, extra stops, or packing materials—are always discussed before your move begins.

10. How can I get the most accurate quote?

Doing a video or in-person estimate, supplying a detailed item list, and notes about stairs, tight spaces, or large items helps us provide the most accurate estimate possible. For our interstate moves our customers rarely end up paying more than their estimated price.


Packing & Preparation

11. What should I do to prepare my home before the movers arrive?

Have items boxed up, labeled, and organized. Clear pathways, unplug appliances, and set aside personal items you want to keep with you. Manly Moving will handle all of the heavy lifting and protect your home during the process. If you need help packing or getting ready for moving day we are always happy to help with that. We are here to take the stress out of moving.

12. Do you offer packing services?

Yes! Manly Moving offers full packing, partial packing, and unpacking services to fit your needs.

13. What items should I pack myself?

We recommend handling valuables such as jewelry, important documents, medications, sentimental keepsakes, or cash personally. Our movers are trustworthy, but handling these items yourself usually will help put your mind at ease.

14. Do you provide packing supplies?

Yes, we offer boxes, tape, packing paper, shrink wrap, mattress bags, and more. You’re welcome to use your own if you’d like. When you book packing services with us we will automatically give you 10 free boxes.

15. How should I label my boxes?

Label each box with the room name of where it is going in your new place on each side of the box and label the top with the key contents or the box. For fragile items, add “FRAGILE” clearly and do the same with boxes containing Liquids. This helps Manly Moving place everything exactly where it belongs.

16. Can Manly Moving disassemble and reassemble furniture?

Yes, our team can disassemble furniture and reassemble it at your new home. We also can unhook and hook up appliances for you as well. Our movers are very handy. We can even hang your TV if you need us to.


What We Can & Cannot Move

17. What items are movers not allowed to move?

For safety and legal reasons, we cannot transport propane tanks, gasoline, aerosols, paint, firearms, ammunition, fireworks, or hazardous chemicals in our moving trucks. We will gladly move these items to a vehicle or trailer for you.

18. Can you move heavy or specialty items like pianos and safes?

Definitely! Manly Moving specializes in moving heavy items such as safes, pianos, pool tables, spas or hot tubs, gym equipment, and oversized furniture. Just let us know ahead of time so we can bring the right equipment for the job.

19. Do you move fragile items like artwork, statues, TVs, and antiques?

Yes. We use extra padding, blankets, and protective wrapping to ensure fragile items are transported safely. Our moving company has moved just about everything at this point and we have the experience and equipment to get these items moved safely. Manly Moving also offers crating for extra valuable or fragile items.

20. Can you move plants or perishable items?

We can move plants locally, but long-distance plant transport is restricted due to climate and state regulations.

21. What happens on moving day?

Our crew arrives on time, does an inventory of your home, protects floors and doorways, wraps furniture, loads everything with care, and unloads. We will place items in your new home exactly where you want them.

22. How should I prepare kids and pets?

Keep kids and pets in a separate space or with a family member. This ensures a smooth and safe process for everyone and make sure no one gets hurt or a beloved pet escapes.

23. Does Manly Moving protect floors and walls?

Absolutely. We use professional-grade pads, blankets, and protective gear to prevent damage to your home. Our “Deluxe Moving Package” is an add on service where we go above and beyond to protect your home or office from any damage. We protect doors, jambs, railings, walkways, and walls.

24. What if something gets damaged during the move?

If damage occurs, we document it immediately and resolve it through our claims process. Manly Moving stands behind our work and we always do our best to work with our customers so everyone is happy in the end. We are a company that takes care of all our customers in all situations.

27. Can you help load or unload rental trucks or storage pods?

Yes! We offer labor-only services, perfect for U-Haul, Penske, PODS, or trailers. As we are also a U-Haul Dealer we can get our customers hooked up with the options that work best for them even if it is the DIY route.

28. Do you offer packing-only or labor-only services?

Yes. Whether you need packing assistance, loading, unloading, or just some extra muscle, we’ve got you covered.

29. Do you offer junk removal or donation pickup?

Yes, we can help dispose of or donate unwanted items during your move—just let us know beforehand.

30. What’s included in a long-distance move with Manly Moving?

Professional packing (optional), careful loading, secure transport, tracking, unloading, and furniture protection. Delivery times depend on the distance, but we are a company that can usually get your items there when and where you want it without charging you an arm and a leg.

31. How do you keep items safe during long-distance transport?

We use commercial-grade padding, secure tie-downs, shrink wrap, and trained drivers. Safety is our top priority. We also use our own movers to load and unload your belongings instead of hiring out some questionable 3rd party movers. You get professional movers from A to B.

32. How does long-distance pricing work?

Delivery times generally vary from 1–7 days, depending on distance and route. We usually can get your stuff where you want it in the time you want it. Our customers love how punctual we are with our long-distance moves.

34. What is your cancellation or rescheduling policy?

We understand things change. Simply give us as much notice as possible to avoid any scheduling fees. We rarely charge a cancellation or rescheduling fee unless things are changed within 24 hours of your moving day.

35. Do you offer weekend or evening moves?

Yes, we offer flexible scheduling—including evenings and weekends—to accommodate your busy life. As a Christian moving company we do not do moves on Sundays. Outside of Sunday we can get your move done and be very flexible.

36. Is Manly Moving licensed and insured?

We accept cash, check, Venmo, debit cards, and credit cards. Manly Moving even offers financing options. To secure your moving date we do require a deposit for every move.
